The Story
These are the Bloodfang hills. When the moon rises red over the bone totems... every beast here knows my name.
I was the smallest whelp of the Kraal clan. Too small to hunt, they said. So the chief sent me away... up to the wolf-keeper in the hills.
Grakka, Mother of Wolves, took me into her den. She taught me the first law: the strong feed the weak. The pack eats first.
I grew up with her wolves. I ran with them, slept with them, howled with them. I still count by howls... because wolves taught me to count.
Then Warchief Grul came to the hills. Grul did not hunt for meat. He hunted for gold... and for beasts to chain to his war wagons.
One night his slavers came to Grakka's den with iron cages. By dawn the den was empty... only wagon tracks in the snow, leading to Grul's camp.
I followed those tracks for nine days. On the tenth night the moon rose red... and I broke every chain in Grul's camp.
Grul's champion, Gorzuk the Unbowed, came to stop me. Forty wounds he carried. He took one more from me... and he knelt.
Orcs, wolves, boars... even old Skarnok, the World-Tusk. All of them followed me out of that camp. That night, the Bloodfang clan was born.
I gave them one law. Grakka's law. No chains. No gold. The strong feed the weak... and the pack eats first.
South of the hills lies Willemsford, a town of grey stone and silver banners. Its master is Captain Ser Willem.
Willem offered peace. So I tried to be a man for him. I wore his cloak. I sat at his table. I put my mark on his paper.
While I sat at his table, his knights came to my camp with nets and cages. They took my wolves... for their pelts.
They chained me in Willem's cellar and laughed. But through the bars... I watched the moon turn red.
The moon rose red, and I stopped pretending to be a man. Willem's walls broke. My wolves came home.
Now Willem gathers his knights again. Let him come. My clan is strong... because the weak are fed first.
Thrag counts by howls. Listen, Willem... the moon is rising. And the pack eats first.
