Duskfall Legends

Guide

Card types

Every card in Duskfall Legends belongs to one of 7 types. The type decides where the card goes when you play it and how it interacts with the board.

How to read a card

  • Mana cost (top left): what you pay to play the card. You gain one mana crystal each turn, up to 10.
  • Attack and Health (bottom): how much damage a monster deals and how much it can take. On weapons the second number is Durability.
  • Durability: sigils and weapons wear down. A weapon loses 1 Durability each time your hero attacks; a sigil loses Durability when it is attacked or damaged.
  • Armor: hero cards give your hero Armor, which absorbs damage before Health.

Monster

1,584 Cards

Monsters are summoned into one of your 7 monster slots and fight with Attack and Health. A monster can't attack on the turn it is summoned unless it has Swift (attack anything) or Lunge (attack monsters). Damage stays on a monster until it is healed; at 0 Health it dies and goes to the graveyard. Every monster has one tribe (Human, Dragon, Undead…) and may carry extra subtypes.

Spell

588 Cards

Spells are one-shot effects: you play one, it resolves immediately and goes to your graveyard. Spells can deal damage, draw cards, summon, buff, destroy or transform. Countered spells still count as spells you cast.

Trap

150 Cards

Traps are set face-down in one of your 3 spell/trap slots. Your opponent can't see which trap it is; it springs automatically on their turn when its trigger happens (for example when they attack or play a spell), then goes to the graveyard.

Sigil

146 Cards

Sigils stay in play in one of your 3 sigil slots and give a lasting effect — auras, triggers every turn, or a countdown. A sigil has Durability: enemy monsters can attack it and effects can damage or destroy it.

Weapon

136 Cards

Weapons equip your hero with Attack and Durability, letting your hero attack once per turn. Each hero attack costs 1 Durability; at 0 the weapon breaks. Playing a new weapon replaces the old one.

Subtypes for this type

Relic

57 Cards

Relics are permanent artifacts kept face-up in your spell/trap zone. They can't be attacked by monsters and give an ongoing bonus for the rest of the game. You can have at most 1 relic in play at a time.

Hero

28 Cards

Hero cards transform your hero: you keep your Health, gain Armor, and your hero power is replaced by a new, stronger one. Each hero has its own hero cards.
